Warning: Beaware
It's highly likely there will be a Special assesment coming to homeowners to pay for frivilious lawsuits. (The Special Assesment which may be in disguise.) oh say as the 2007 Ice storm, or diseased trees mentioned in the "Eastwood trails". According to Oklahoma county court records. The EHOA losted a resent case involving the non approvial of a roof in the neighborhood. Costing the Association $10,000 in damages plus court cost, and having placed and injuction and a restraining order against the EHOA. And I heard we have to have an architect on retainer how much does that? The only one making money is the lawers. |

| The worse part of the two recent lawsuits (Eastwood lost both), is that Eastwood could not possibly win either one. The Board of Directors certainly do not govern the public streets in Midwest City. By not following the established rules, the Board of Directors cost Eastwood a defeat in the roof lawsuit. The lawyer consulted in both cases did not do any kind of good job, but again the lawyer was the only one involved who could not possibly lose. If the Board of Directors do not follow the established rules, how can they expect an Eastwood resident to comply with the rules? There are many examples of the Board not complying with the rules: Structure of the Architectural Committee, Board members authorized to sign checks, allowing signs in Eastwood, satelite dishes, illegal fences, unapproved sheds. I would like to know who on the Board makes the decision as to what rule is to be enforced, and what rules can be ignored. |

To the above poster.
Because you think you know so much about what's going on in Eastwood and what the Board should and shouldn't do, and it's obvious by your previous comments you know everything there is to know about the rules, I think you should volunteer to be on the Board.
What-ta say!!
Step up or Shut up. |

| What's this about lawsuits? What lawsuits, who did it involve? Can I find information about this at the Oklahoma County Records dept so that I can share this each and every homeowner living in Eastwood?!!! |

| There were two recent lawsuits filed by the Eastwood Community Association. One for alleged illegal parking on public streets in Eastwood. The second for improper roofing shingles. Eastwood lost both cases and is obligated to pay over $!2,000 in legal fees. We really did punish those who supposedly broke the rules. The only one who made out like a bandit -- the lawyer who advised and represented Eastwood. |

| I certainly do hope that someone looks into the lawsuits and gets the word out to the residents of Eastwood. Seems as though the Board is trying to keep everyone in the dark. |
